The Bedford Blizzard Fall and Winter Atomic Programs are designed for players that have experiences in sport and want to learn more about volleyball. The program’s goal is to provide strong foundational training that supports players in securing future positions on school and club volleyball teams. Atomic instruction covers all the fundamental skills of volleyball plus team play in a 4 x 4 format.

Please read: Completion of the application below does not guarantee any athlete a spot in our Atomic program. Should an athlete be selected they will receive a registration link from the head coaches via email, which will include payment requirements.

Program details:

• Starting Sunday, September 20th
• Sessions will be 6-7:30pm at École Secondaire du Sommet
• Athletes selected will be sent a registration link via Team Snap which requires payment by credit card (no exceptions).
• Cost: $165/athlete (includes a Blizz Atomic t-shirt)

What is the Atomic age range?

Our primary Atomic target age range for girls and boys is 10U-11U-12U “volleyball age”.  But we will consider limited players who are 9U and 13U volleyball age. These ages all refer to “volleyball age in Canada” which has a 16 month window. Again, a background in sport is expected.  

Below is the specific age requirements for the Blizz Atomic Programs

• Regular Atomic Age: 10U-12U Volleyball Age Born:  Sept. 1, 2014 – Dec. 31, 2017
• Lower Age (Limited Spots) 9U Volleyball Age Born:  Sept. 1, 2017 – Dec. 31, 2018
• Higher Age (Limited Spots) 13U Volleyball Age Born:  Sept. 1, 2013 – Dec. 31, 2014 (Winter Atomic program only)

 

Winter 2027 Atomic

Our inaugural Winter Atomic Program in 2026 was a huge success. Due to more limited space tryouts may be required and this program accommodates 36 athletes.

Once selected, players in our Winter Atomic programs will be expected to have regular attendance and to do regular home practice between sessions. This will contribute significantly to players having a rewarding experience. Volleyball is typically a late entry sport. That being said, we hope to secure players in Atomic who have heart and hustle, and a previous athletic background so that we can nourish the specific skills of volleyball.
