About our Winter Atomic Program

The Bedford Blizzard Winter Atomic Program is designed for players that have experiences in sport and wish to improve their skills with the goal to become players on their school team or to play competitive club volleyball on teams similar to our club’s competitive teams. Regular attendance is both essential and expected. As well, players are expected to do regular home practice between sessions. These factors will contribute significantly to players having a rewarding experience. Please consider this information before registering.

Age Range: Players will be accepted according to the Volleyball NS age range (see chart below)

We will not be accepting players outside of the age range indicated which is 10U to 13U

Capacity: up to 8 players 10U age, 24 players 11U & 12U age, up to 8 players 13U age.

Focus: Atomic will focus on the primary skills of volleyball: spiking, forearm pass, overhead pass, serving, digging, blocking as well as 4 vs 4 Atomic game play.

Groupings: Generally, by ability with week-to-week changes that reflect improvement. We do try to group boys together.

Where and when

Dates: Sundays, January 19/26...February 2/9/16/23...March 2/16/23/30

Times: 4-5:30pm

Venue: Ecole Sommet, 500 Larry Uteck Boulevard

Fee: $220. A credit card is necessary to register using the link which will be posted on January 5 and will be active at 7pm. In addition, players who become accepted must become registered with Volleyball NS/Volleyball Canada in the “Recreational Player” category. The cost is around $19 and includes insurance. Further details will follow to accepted players. Players who were in Blizz Fall Atomic  do not have to pay this fee. Players will receive an Atomic t-shirt.

Refunds: Depend on withdrawal notice.  100% - 3 full days before 1^st session, 80% - 3 full days before 2^nd session, 60% - 3 full days before 3^rd session.  No refunds less than 3 full days before 3^rd session.

Coaches

Session coaches: players in the Bedford Blizzard Volleyball Club will be the court instructors.

The head coaches: Jenna Dockendorff (also head coach Blizz 18U Girls Black) and Erinn Quinlivan-Hall (also Head Coach Blizz 14U Girls Black).  A very favourable coach to player ratio will be in place.

First message to parents of accepted players, on or before Monday, January 13^th, will have more details about the program.
