Please also note

Club volleyball in Canada has unique 16 month age groups. Please ensure to check the Volleyball Age Group Chart at the bottom of the following Tryout Information to ensure that you are eligible for the Age Group that you are signing up for. If you wish to be considered for two Age Groups you must register and attend the Tryouts for both desired age groups.

The first phase of Volleyball Nova Scotia’s Team Selection Process which was termed Re-Signs and Early Signs was completed on November 15. The Blizzard club did sign some players via Re-Signs and Early Signs in some but not all age categories. The number of spots available via In-Person Tryouts are shown at the top of each age groups Tryout Schedule.

In Girls we have one Blizz Navy Team and one Blizz Black Team. In Boys we have one Blizz Navy Team. In 12U Co-Ed we have one Navy Team and one Black Team.

General In-Person Tryout Details

• Change into gym shoes after arriving inside the facility and before entering the gym
• Only water is allowed in all gyms, must be in a sealable water bottle. No food is allowed in all gyms
• Parents or Spectators are not allowed in our Tryout Gyms. Check your child in at the Registration Table and return to pick them up at the end time for the tryout. Three exceptions where parents can watch through the glass windows looking into the gym: West Bedford School, West Bedford High, Bedford Hammonds Plains CC.
• Tryout Registration guarantees participation in one tryout session. Coaches may not invite all players to attend subsequent sessions. Otherwise, players should plan on attending all sessions for their desired age group(s)
• Unofficial Offers to players can happen from December 7 to December 16. This will vary a lot by our coaches in different age groups
• Official Offers to players can be made to players on December 17 at 5pm. Players have 48 hours to accept or decline.

Our Annual Club Meeting

We will host our annual club wide meeting of selected players, parents, coaches on December 21 at Ecole Sommet starting at 4pm. The agenda will include:

• uniform and clothing sizing,
• a PowerPoint presentation with all the details and expectations for the 2026 club season,
• a parents' meeting with their child’s coaches to review plans and expectations.
