2026 Blizz Team Selection
Team Selection Process
The Bedford Blizzard Volleyball Club will be offering the following 20 teams for the 2026 season:
- 12U Co-Ed, two teams
- Girls, two teams in: 13U-14U-15U-16U-17U-18U
- Boys, one team in: 13U-14U-15U-16U-17U-18U
We will follow the rules and protocols that Volleyball Nova Scotia expects for team selection, including:
1. RE-SIGNING PERIOD
When: November 10-15.
For: Players who played on a Blizz Club Team last season.
How: You must submit the following online “Blizz Re-Sign Application Form” for consideration to be re-signed for a position on a 2026 Blizz team. Helpful to submit by November 6.

Players will be notified between November 10-15. Players not re-signed can still gain a position via Tryouts.
2. EARLY SIGNING PERIOD (For 16U-17U-18U Players Only)
When: November 10-15.
For: Players who did not play on a Blizz Club Team last season
How: You must submit the following online “Blizz Athlete Expression of Interest Form” to be considered for a 2026 Blizz team. This is intended for strong players. Helpful to submit by November 6.

Players will be notified between November 10-15. Players not offered an Early Signing spot can still gain a position via Tryouts.
Early signing is not available for players in 12U-13U-14U-15U age groups. According to VNS rules, players in these age groups must be selected via In-Person Tryouts.
3. TRYOUTS
When: December 7-16.
How: In person tryouts will be offered for our Blizz competitive teams during this period. All the details about dates, times, gyms and other information will be posted on this website around the third week of November. There will be two or three tryout dates for each age group and players should plan on attending all the sessions to enhance their selection. Official offers will be via email on December 17 starting at 5pm.

Volleyball in Canada uses unique 16 month age groups. Make sure to not make any assumptions.

Things you should know:
- OUR COACHING STAFF. The Blizz club prides itself on the quality of our coaches. We are currently working on posting our coach bios for the 2026 season. Hope to have the majority posted by early November.
- PLAYING UP. Our club does allow players of strong ability to play up.
- IN SEASON PRACTICES. Most teams will practice 3 times/week. 12U will be 2 times/week.
- PRACTICE GYMS. Our club will be using 16 gyms in Bedford, Halifax, Fall River, Waverley, Sackville, Dartmouth.
