Blizzard Club Team Selection for 2026 Season

The Blizzard Club will be offering 20 competitive teams for the 2026 season. Our programs will start with 2 teams of 12U Co-Ed, which was a new VNS program last season. For Girls we will offer two teams in each of the following age groups: 13U-14U-15U-16U-17U-18U. For Boys we will offer one team in each of the following age groups: 13U-14U-15U-16U-17U-18U. We will be following all the rules and time frames required by Volleyball Nova Scotia. Of significance there are three ways that players can be selected, as below. Our teams may and in the past have used one, two or all three methods, great variance between individual age and gender groups:

1. RE-SIGNING PERIOD

November 10-15. The Blizz club has the option to offer spots to players who were members of our club in the prior season. Resigns are by application only. A special link will be sent to all players and their parents who played Blizz club last season to submit an application to be Re-Signed. The link will also shortly be posted on this website. We will not be accepting email applications. Players will have 48 hours to accept a Re-Signing Offer. Players who do not secure a position by the Re-Sign program, can still make a team via Tryouts

2. EARLY SIGNING PERIOD – For 16U-17U-18U Age Categories Only.

November 10-15. Players who did not play for the Blizz club last season, can submit an “Athlete Expression of Interest Form” to our club indicating their interest in joining our club. Players have 48 hours to accept an Early Signing Offer. The link to submit the Athlete Expression of Interest Form will be posted on this website. This must be completed on-line, we will not be accepting email submissions. The application for Early Signing Period for our 16U-17U-18U teams intended to be for strong players.

3. TRYOUTS

December 7-16. Players who have not secured a position during the Re-Signing or Early Signing Periods can secure a position during the Tryout Period. And players who wish to join a new club in the 12U-13U-14U-15U age groups must secure a spot via In-Person Tryouts. They are not eligible to secure a position during the Early Signing Period. Official offers are made starting at 5pm on December 17. Tryout schedules, tryout fees and other related information will be posted on the website by mid-November.

2026 COACHING STAFF

We take great pride in the quality of our coaches. The Blizz club is assembling an exceptional coaching staff. Bios of coaches will be soon posted under the “About Us” section. We have one head coach and a few assistant coach positions available. Contact al.scott@dal.ca with your background information or forward name and contact information for any recommended coach that would be a good fit for the Blizz club.
